The aim of the Helen O’Grady Drama System is to involve our children in a highly stimulating and creative theatre arts programme designed to develop:

• Enthusiasm and a Positive Approach to life
• Ongoing Confidence
• Self Esteem
• Verbal Communication Skills
• Effective Social Interaction

These aims are achieved through a highly developed and unique drama program. Each lesson is carefully planned and the students end off the year with final performance to their parents!

Unity Primary School Primary 1 Orientation Day Performance

“On behalf of Unity PSG, I would like to extend our sincere thanks to Helen O’Grady for the P1 & P2 Speech and Drama Performance. We are very proud of the children. We must say the children did a beautiful job with an impressive and amazing stage show. (Big thanks to Teacher Angie, Teacher Lynette, Teacher Mugdha and Teacher Tanya).

I am sure the children enjoyed themselves on the stage, so did their parents at the audience crowds. We received many positive feedback from new parents and we also received enquiries from parents on the sign up date for 2012 class…Having said that, this means, we hope that next year, we will also be able to put in the same agenda to have P1 & P2 Speech and Drama class performance during 2012 P1 Orientation Day.”

Over 100 Primary 3 students , 5 different plays and just under 8 lessons.

Kicking off the “Broadway” Presentation to teachers and parents of students from Parkview Primary School, not only was the first hour’s segment hosted by 2 eloquent emcees, the students from our Helen O’Grady Program ‘whao’-ed the audience with their well choreographed drama performance and crisp speech lines.

Congratulations to Teachers Tanya, Chin Fern, Lin and Eli on once again putting up a superb performance!

Congratulations to Ava Lak and Lucas Tan on winning the Championship and First Runner-Up Awards of the YMCA Plain English Speaking Awards 2011* (Pre-School Category)

Helen O’Grady Drama Singapore is honored to have been able to play a part in coaching both Ava and Lucas in preparing them for this island-wide competition. Please click on the respective links to view Ava’s and Lucas’ competition videos.

When asked for her thoughts, Tanya Boey (Senior Speech & Drama Specialist) said, “Lucas is an attentive and diligent student. Always cheerful and positive and he is never afraid to take on new challenges. Most of all, I had fun teaching him.”

Once again, congratulations to all our students and we hope that you will be able to benefit from the valuable life skills imparted to you via the Helen O’Grady Speech & Drama Program.
