Helen O’Grady is from Perth, Australia. She was a successful actress, TV presenter & teacher who decided to translate her knowledge and skills into a curriculum that would help students develop confidence in verbal communication and social skills. Having seen success in the drama academy she established in Australia in 1979, she decided to globalize her operations by means of franchising. The Singapore franchise operations started in 1998 and has been growing since then, training more than 3,500 students in Singapore every year since 2006 .
Today, Helen O’Grady franchisees are located in almost every continent on earth. It is the only drama academy of its kind in the world, with such an international curriculum, presence and reach. Helen O’Grady’s contribution to the development of students all over the world was recognized by Trinity College who conferred her fellow status in June 2004. Her unique curriculum, system and techniques of delivery practiced consistently by franchisees all over the world have seen many timid students transformed into confident individuals.

He understands the developmental needs of Singapore’s students in meeting the communication challenges in their future careers. Lye-Sum is a Deacon of Ebenezer Church, where he preaches and teaches regularly. He is currently the Chairman of SAFRA Toa Payoh, Chairman of the SAFRA Education Committee and also a member of the SAFRA Management Committee. A father of 3 sons aged, 14, 13 & 10, he is a regular speaker for parenting talks held in various schools as part of his conviction to promote family life. He also runs a private consulting practice that provides interim management services, sales coaching and presentation skills development. He holds a Masters Degree in Marketing, a Bachelors Degree in Computer Sciences and plays several musical instruments including the classical guitar.
